KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Confirmed For DISTURBED's 'Music As A Weapon' Tour
November 16, 2008According to a posting on the web site of the booking agency The Agency Group, Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will take part in DISTURBED's fourth Music As A Weapon tour, which is expected to get underway sometime in March. Dates, cities and additional supporting acts have yet to be unveiled.
The last Weapon tour, which took place in late 2006, featured STONE SOUR, NONPOINT and FLYLEAF in addition to the headliners.
DISTURBED spent the past summer co-headlining the inaugural Rock Star Energy Mayhem Festival with SLIPKNOT, and has just completed a run of dates in New Zealand, Japan and Europe.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio told MTV's Metal File in August that the New England-based band would enter the studio in October to begin work on its next album, with plans to release the disc in early 2009. D'Antonio remarked, "When we start on this next one, we'll just bring our demos to practice, and we'll listen to them, judge them and start rearranging the parts that need to be rearranged — or we just start jamming on what sounds cool." The bassist added that most of the material he's written so far for the project sounds "fast."
The new disc will follow KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's 2006 album, "As Daylight Dies". The band's cover of DIO's "Holy Diver", issued on the special edition of the CD, became a surprise Top 10 rock radio hit late last year.
